Yams

After receiving the gracious gift of premium membership from I took a peak at my statistics and saw just how inactive I've been (granted school got busy) but I was shocked. So I immediately decided to jump into old sketches that I had wanted to ink up but didn't have the time for to get back into things. I hope you'll forgive my inactivity. Here's a fake line that I really like :] they are based off of a weird armored yam (dioscorea elephantipes) which is itself an amazing plant.

1] Yamble spend most of their time buried up to the stem. They leech minerals and nutrients from the soil allowing them to grow tough rocky plates.
2] When dug up, Yamble will first attempt to run off on their week root legs. When the pursuer is too fast to outrun, they hide in their rock plate armor.

1] Yamrock are covered in rock hard armor. Because they spend a lot of time in soil, the gaps in their armor often get filled with gravel and dirt.
2] Sometimes its hard to tell a Yamrock from a pile of stones. However if you need to know, look close by for spring roots.
