1] The super-fine scales that coat Arctimoth's wing are easily shed. Once in the air, the scales release their silver iodide residues to generate snow on massive scales. In this way, Arcitmoth are known to generate powerful whiteout conditions at a whim.
2] Arcimoth are well known pollinators of glacidia flowers in the cooler northern latitudes of the world. To protect themselves from predators they whip up raging blizzards with their wings and fire frigid energy rays from their antennae.
